Cop punches woman video: Envy Night Club YouTube video shows Elizabeth, New Jersey officer punching

Cell phone video that appears to show a New Jersey police officer punching a woman in the face has gone viral after being posted on YouTube.

According to the New York Daily News , police in Elizabeth, N.J. are investigating the 20-second clip filmed during a brawl outside a night club.

The club, according to the report , is called Envy Night Club.

The video shows the officer going to arrest a man, but then punching a woman who tries to intervene.

The circumstances behind the punch are not clear, the New York Daily News reports.
