In a recent update, the words "retweet," "sexting," and "cyberbullying," have all been added to the Concise Oxford English Dictionary, reports The Huffington Post.
Celebrating its centenary anniversary, the newest and twelfth edition of the dictionary added 400 new words, for a total of 240,000 total entries.
In a report from Mashable , other additions to the Oxford English Dictionary are "jeggings," "mankini" and "domestic goddess." Earlier this year, the Oxford English Dictionary Online added "w00t!," "OMG," "LOL" -- and yes, the "<3" symbol -- to its list of official English words.
The Huffington Post reported that the dictionary's editor, Angus Stevenson, explained the updates were added because "new words often reflect the era in which they were added to the dictionary." So what does that say about our era?
