A man was ending a night dive off the coast of the South Bay when he got quite a surprise!
A sea lion pup hopped aboard Rick Coleman's kayak and refused to leave.
At one point, he nudged the stubborn sea lion off with an oar, but seconds later, it hopped back on.
Coleman says he thought the pup may have been trying to escape a shark in the area or just trying to warm up.
He started paddling back to shore, and the sea lion stayed on board the whole time.
When he got back to the beach, the sea lion hopped off and went to rest on some rocks nearby.
