The stork made an express delivery on I-95 in South Florida early Tuesday morning.
A couple delivered their baby, without help, on the side of the highway while heading to the hospital.
The mother and baby are doing just fine and are expected to stay at the hospital for the next two or three days.
"Well it was about four o'clock in the morning when a mother of, now, three, she was on the way to the hospital when she delivered on the side of I-95. And actually, she was assisted by her lovely husband. Miami Dade Fire Rescue, Rescue 32, as well as Engine 32 arrived on scene to find that they were assisted by Miami Dade PD as well as FHP. And so, we were concerned about securing the scene, since we were on 95 and even that early in the morning, it's a dangerous area to be in. And so, we secured the scene, and we found the mother with the baby out, cord still attached. They looked very calm, and the father was shirtless because he had to give his beautiful daughter his shirt to warm her up," said Brian Stark with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
The newborn baby girl's name is Margarita.
