CALEXICO, CA -- A local restaurant is expecting throngs of the faithful, after its chef made a surprising discovery.
The Las Palmas restaurant cook was cleaning a griddle when he looked down and saw what appeared to be an image of the Virgin Mary right there on the metal.
So he called Reverend Gerardo Fernandez of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church who stopped by and confirmed that the image was indeed a likeness of the Virgin.
The restaurant owner has now taken the griddle out of the kitchen and has put it on display in a storage for people to come and see.
More than 100 people have already stopped by to view the image.
