A new poll finds most women value beauty over fitness.
Nearly half of the women who participated in the Associated Press/I-Village poll say they have negative feelings about their figures.
That's not surprising to Corrine Becker, a nurse who specializes in helping women with body image issues.
"You go to the grocery store, you're in the checkout line, right now especially as we're heading into summer bikinis, and they're seeing actresses and models with flat bellies and thinking they need to look like them," she explained.
53% of the women polled said they have negative feelings about their weight.
57% described themselves as overweight, 24% were on a diet and only 8% say they get recommended five daily servings of vegetables and fruit.
When it to comes to physical activity, women said on average they only squeeze in 80 minutes a week.
