PALM BEACH, Fla. -- If you've ever had to say goodbye to a pet, you know it's a difficult process to endure.

Some veterinarians are trying to make the procedure easier and more comfortable for you and your pet.

Roxy, Zoey and Boomer were inseparable. The four-legged members of the McLeary family went everywhere together. So when one became sick, the family chose a less conventional way to say goodbye.

Rather than bringing 13-year old Boomer to the vet's office, the vet came to them.

Some even go to the beach or a favorite park to have their pet put down.

In a special report Thursday on NewsChannel 5 at 5:00 p.m., Christina Mora will show you what some families say provides more closure.
