PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla.--Breakouts, pimples, whatever you want to call them--they are a teenage rite of passage.

Getting rid of acne isn't always easy and that can result in self esteem issues.

Achieving clear skin was at the top of 14 year old Harrison Tancer's priorities. "I'm growing up and I wanted to look like I'm growing up. "I started more and more wanting to change it."

When soap, water and exfoliants didn't work, it was time to see West Palm Beach Dermatologist Kenneth Beer to zap the zits with the Isolaz Acne Treatment.

"It's a light based laser treatment that basically heats up the skin and heats up the acne and decreases the lesions across the skin so its great for certain types of acne that tend to occur pretty commonly," the doctor said.

It's one of the very first effective treatments for people who want to treat their acne without taking antibiotics.

Patients may feel warmth from the laser. The 15 minute treatment helps to shrink the oil glands and clean the pores from the inside out.

After 8 treatments, Harrison is on his way to a clearer complexion.

Isolaz is not covered by insurance. It costs about 15 hundred dollars for 8 treatments.
