Teachers are hired to enlighten and empower, but since 2006, dozens of teachers across Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie County have been fired for sexually engaging students.
In 2004, former Boynton Beach music teacher Carol Flannigan was arrested after admitting to having sex with a 5th grader.
"I've tried to fight my feelings for you," Flannigan said to the student during a recorded phone conversation just prior to her arrest.
The Contact 5 Investigators poured through years of substantiated cases of teachers sexually harassing students.
"It's wrong, bad, illegal behavior and we will prosecute to the fullest extent," said Nat Harrington, spokesperson for the Palm Beach County School District.
