There's growing concern that an appliance inside your home court hurt you.
Hundreds of people are coming forward claiming their dishwashers caught on fire, including a man from Boca Raton.
"You don't want to think about how bad it could've been had we not been here at the time," said Richard Steffer.
"There was all of a sudden just black smoke pouring out of the top of the dishwasher," said Steffer.
The Contact 5 Investigators quickly discovered Steffer is not alone. We have seen and heard similar dishwasher complaints across the country. Some fires involve tens of thousands of dollars in damages.
Thursday night, on NewsChannel 5 at 11, we'll reveal what brands of appliances are involved and what a group of homeowners is trying to do to prevent a similar situation from happening to you.
