SUBURBAN BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - As investigators continue to piece together what lead up to a deadly, deputy-involved shooting before sunrise Thursday morning, more information is being released about the suburban Boynton Beach bar where it all began.
"Since January, we've been out to this bar 46 times because of different problems out there," said Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw during a news conference on Thursday.
Records obtained by the Contact 5 investigators detail exactly what kind of problems have plagued 1st and 10 Bar & Grill.
Roughly half of the calls to the sheriff's office concerned violence, suspicion or some other kind of nuisance.
In January conduct, loud music and trespassing prompted responses by deputies.
In February, it was a bathroom battle among women, according to an incident report.
March and April showed a number of fights and last month deputies were called over a suspicious vehicle and an unwanted guest.
It's the kind of incidents you might expect at a bar. Most of the incidents, according to records, occurred in the early hours of morning.
But it's what happened just after 5:05 Thursday morning that remains the headline and the reason for so many more questions.
1st and 10 Sports Bar & Grill has been operating since 2010. While the county does have the power to shut down a business over nuisance and criminal activity, there is no talk of taking any action against the bar.
Calls to the owner of the bar have not been returned.
