Drugs, alcohol, battery. These are among the offenses committed by area teachers who are still teaching in the classroom.

"When you're a teacher you're held to a different standard then everbody else, I believe," said Elena Martinez, a mother of four.

The Contact 5 Investigators found more than 50 cases involving local teachers, serious allegations and seemingly, soft punishment.

"I think in some cases, teachers are let off too easily," said a top state leader who helps decide who gets to teach in Florida and who doesn't.
