West Palm Beach, Fla. - We’ve seen the headlines about norovirus outbreaks on board cruise ships. But the Contact 5 Investigators looked into an unusual claim that  cruise ship workers could be putting vacationers at risk.

The ships are huge floating resorts, ready to whisk passengers away from it all. But there can be a flip side to that reality - getting sick.

“It’s just horrendous,” said recent passenger Joe Nasuti.  He’s been on more than two dozen cruises but he didn’t bargain for what happened on his last adventure.

“I started feeling nausea and the diarrhea came in, I lost eight pounds in four days,” he said.

The Contact 5 Investigators went through hundreds of inspection reports and you may be surprised at what they found. Plus, you’ll see what’s falling through the cracks when it comes to cruise ship policies and procedures. It’s an issue that has federal officials in Washington, D.C., concerned.

Thursday night on NewsChannel 5 at 11 find out what to look out for and what you need to know before you book your next cruise.
