Suncoast teacher is finalist for top honors

WEST PALM BEACH, FL, -- Marilynn Rose Pedek of Suncoast Community High School received a surprise this morning.
The science teacher was named one of five finalists for the 2010 Macy’s/Florida Department of Education Teacher of the Year Award.
Pedek was awarded a $5,000 check from Macy’s and a $500 gift card.
Macy’s also presented a $1,000 check to Suncoast.
Marilynn Rose Pedek is a Science and Chemistry Teacher at Suncoast Community High School.
The winner of the teacher of the year award will be announced in July in Orlando.
