LOXAHATCHEE, FL -- Loxahatchee resident Sylvia Thomas found the first yellow sneaker in her mailbox Sunday.
A day later, the matching sneaker was discovered on top of her son's mailbox a few doors down.
Both had 'KKK' cut into them.
"I was shocked and hurt" says the longtime resident.
PBSO removed the sneakers in an evidence bag.
It is, potentially,a hate crime.
Sylvia believes it is a reaction to the election of Barack Obama.
But she forgives.
"I pray they find the softness in their hearts".
