JUPITER, FL, -- Drivers heading north on I 95 Wednesday morning had to cope with delays while the highway was closed for 7 hours.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says that it was following a stolen 2009 Toyota Carolla northbound from Lake Worth before 2 am.
Stop sticks were deployed near PGA Boulevard. The Toyota struck a Jeep which in turn sideswiped a PBSO deputy's car.
The stolen car then spun out of control until it landed in the median near Donald Ross Rd.
The driver of the car, Lorraine Rodriguez, was transported as to the hospital in critical condition but is expected to survive.
Barron Condo who was a passenger in the stolen vehicle was ejected and died on the scene.
A third person in the car, David Laneski of New Jersey, was not injured.
PBSO says Rodriguez was fleeing police and impaired by drugs at the time of the accident.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the incident.
