WEST PALM BEACH, FL, -- Georgia Gaines of Lake Worth will be sentenced in federal court later this summer for fraudulently preparing tax returns.
Gaines was a math teacher in Palm Beach County prior to her arrest.
She pled guilty to five counts of assisting and advising in the preparation of fraudulent income tax returns and five counts of filing false personal tax returns, which failed to report income she earned from her tax preparation business.
The IRS says that Gaines used inflated deductions and losses to help her clients get large returns.
Information provided by the US Attorney's Office says the former math teacher earned over $200,000 preparing tax returns over a five year period.
