Flu season is coming, and pregnant women are especially vulnerable.
But is the vaccine safe for expectant moms?
Doctors say not only is it safe, but it is important for women to get a flu shot. The shot is the best defense against the flu, which is more likely to cause severe illness in pregnant women.
It is not just mom who benefits. Pregnant women who get vaccinated tend to have healthier babies. They also pass on their antibodies to the newborn.
The flu shot is safe for women at any stage of pregnancy, but expectant moms should not receive the flu mist spray.
