Food stamp fraud is costing Americans millions in taxpayer money every year.

A check by the Contact 5 Investigators and the Scripps Howard News Service discovered weak federal regulations and oversight are allowing the fraud to often go unchecked in our community.

We found stores on the Treasure Coast and the Palm Beaches that have been disqualified from the food stamp program, but are still accepting food stamps.

Why are stores that were banned from the program still participating in it?

What's the most common method being used to pocket the money?

It's a NewsChannel 5 special report, Friday at 11 p.m. on WPTV, NewsChannel 5.
