Rain came down in buckets in Port St. Lucie and Stuart. Doppler rainfall estimates, along with storm spotters, reported 4-6 inches of rain had fallen Saturday morning.
This amount of rain over a short period of time caused some flooding. US 1 from just north of Bridge Road to around the Jensen Beach Causeway was down to only one lane due to the flooding. This stretch of road runs by the Treasure Coast Mall. Flooding was also reported at the intersection of Darwin Blvd and Gatlin Blvd, and Darwin at Tulip Blvd.
The weather service at noon said almost 2 inches of rain has fallen around the Vero Beach area and another inch or two is possible before the rain ends.
