The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash on Interstate 95 that began with a police chase.
Investigators say an officer with the Boynton Beach Police Department spotted a car that he had been told to be on the lookout for early Saturday morning.
The officer followed the car onto I-95 at Gateway Boulevard.
Authorities say the officer turned on his lights and siren, hoping to get the driver to stop, but the driver didn't.
Investigators say the driver, Cyrus Deal, eventually lost control of the car, crashing it into a wall. Detectives say Deal was ejected from the car and died at the scene.
NewsChannel 5 reported that he may have been driving a stolen car or a car that was used in an armed robbery last week .
Deal's family declined to comment on camera about the crash.
The officer involved is on paid administrative leave while the crash investigation continues.
