A person was hit by a buckshot at the J.W. Corbett Wildlife Management Area at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Friday, according to Carli Segelson, spokeswoman for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
The J.W. Corbett Wildlife Management Area is closed while the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission investigates the incident, according to Segelson.
Buckshot is lead shot found in shotgun shells.
About a dozen Palm Beach County Fire Rescue units were first dispatched and were later canceled.
The person hit was not seriously injured, according to Segelson.
