WELLINGTON, Fla.-- Still three days before the biggest shopping frenzy of the year, Erica Berger and her mom are fitting in some pre Black Friday shopping, hoping to avoid chaos altogether.
"Absolutely not, no, I rarely leave on Black Fridays, I can't do it, I'd rather stay inside and lock my door, it's too crazy for me," said Berger.
Post-Thanksgiving sales aren't for everyone. Then again, The Mall at Wellington Green is opening earlier than ever this year -- to accommodate shoppers.
"Seems to be a little bit of an industry trend that we're seeing and we take the requests of our shoppers and our retailers into account when we look at our holiday hours," said Rachelle Crain, the mall's marketing director.
So as you begin to digest your turkey dinner, you can head to the mall.
The Mall at Wellington Green officially opens at 5:00 a.m. Friday. But more than 40 stores within the mall will open doors even earlier, some starting at midnight.
The mall will join big box stores throughout the country, welcoming shoppers in the middle of the night.
"Many of them come out with a list, they have an agenda for what they want to accomplish that day they know what stores they want to go to, what deals they're looking for," said Crain.
The Boynton Beach Mall and the Treasure Coast Square Mall in Jensen Beach both expect big crowds as they open at midnight also.
Crowds that Erica Berger is happy to avoid.
"I mean you see the people at Walmart at like 5:00 a.m. and they're all tumbling over people," said Berger.
