Some pet owners are taking to social media calling for a recall of the dog food brand, Beneful, saying it has been making their animals sick.

The FDA's website does not list any recalls for Beneful, but there are numerous complaints about this brand on the Consumer Affairs website.

Beneful's Facebook page has also received hundreds of questions from pet owners who want to know more.

Under one post , the company responded, "The truth is that we stand firmly behind the safety and quality of all Beneful products, and so we want to make sure we're being absolutely clear that there are no quality product issues with Beneful." Beneful also responded to WPTV in a tweet, "We stand firmly behind the quality of our products, and appreciate speaking with concerned fans directly at 800-877-7551."

The internet website, Snopes, which often tries to verify internet rumors has a lengthy post on the complaints. Click here to view its report.
