THE ACREAGE, Fla. - Call it a mini Craigslist. A Seminole Ridge High School senior's website is creating some buzz in The Acreage community.
David Freund started a website called " Acreage Swip Swap " about a month ago. It is an online garage sale for people who live in Wellington, Royal Palm Beach and Loxahatchee.
Residents are selling everything from household knickknacks to higher priced items like couches. Unlike Craigslist, users can create a profile so they can see who their neighbors are, not just what they are selling.
Freund's website was only supposed to be a project for his digital media class, but now its becoming much more. "After I did it, my teacher said this has a lot of potential. He said if you have some money to back it up, I would advise you to invest in it and see if it can turn into anything," said Freund.
Freund says he gets about 400 hits on the website each day and placed a Facebook ad to spread the word.
