WEST PALM BEACH, FL -- A jury handed down a guilty verdict for one of five suspects in a robbery, chase and shooting that started at the Three Amigos convenience store on November 30th, 2007.

The evidence at trial showed that on November 30, 2007, defendant Luis Alfonso Reyes Castillo along with a group of individuals, drove from Miami to Palm Beach County and entered into the 3 Amigos Convenience Store for the purpose of robbing the store owner at gun point.

Twenty-five-year-old Luis Alfonso Reyes Castillo was convicted of first degree murder with a firearm, attempted first degree murder with a firearm, attempted felony murder, burglary with assault or battery while armed, robbery with a firearm, kidnapping with a firearm, shooting into a building, shooting into an occupied vehicle and discharging a firearm from a vehicle for his role in a bold daytime robbery at the Three Amigos grocery store. The store's owner who was also a victim of the attack followed the men out of the store and chased the men onto Atlantic Avenue in his vehicle.

During the chase, shots were fired from the suspect's vehicle. One of the shots struck and killed an innocent bystander, later identified as 70-year-old Delray Beach resident Samuel Solomon.

Castillo could face the death penalty.
