WELLINGTON, FL--A charity that helps soldiers issued a cry for help this week, and on Friday some local students responded.

Students at Wellington Christian School handed over a check for more than $2,000 to Forgotten Soldiers Outreach.

The group sends care packages to soldiers at war and has been struggling with finances.

Specialist Joshua Langley has been a recipient of those boxes and cards.  He showed up during an assembly at the school Friday to the students for their big effort.

"For them to raise money, just out of the kindness of their heart...it touches you, it really does. It doesn't matter, the biggest soldier that works out every day, the "hardest core" one...he's touched when he gets a letter like that," said Langley.
