WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- U.S. Senator Bill Nelson is set to meet with a group of
children who have had brain tumors and their families in a small Palm Beach County community that has had a cluster of cancer cases.
Nelson is scheduled to talk with several children from The Acreage community at Palms West Hospital on Wednesday.
He has asked the Environmental Protection Agency and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to coordinate with the state to investigate the situation of a potentially large number of cases in the relatively small area.
A spokesman for Nelson says the senator wants to hear firsthand about these families' experiences and make sure they know he's doing everything he can.
