VERO BEACH, Fla. — Police are looking into about 18 burglaries of unlocked cars in a residential area west of the Vero Beach High School, a police official said Friday.
The burglaries happened sometime between Thursday evening and Friday morning between 24th and 32nd avenues and between 14th and 18th streets, police Lt. Kevin Martin said. Several residents reported missing items, but most vehicles were just rummaged through, he said.
The burglar or burglars appeared to target unlocked vehicles.
Police remind residents to keep their vehicles locked and not leave valuable items inside.
