PALM BEACH, FL --  Lance Collier II has been booked into the Palm Beach County jail on grand theft charges.

Collier is accused of stealing a boat and crashing it on the jetty at the Lake Worth Inlet.

Palm Beach Police say that Collier told investigators that on September 22nd of 2009 he met a woman at Buddy's Cafe on Singer Island.

Collier, according to police, invited the woman to go for a ride on a boat that belonged to his boss.

The suspect, according to police, did not have permission to take the boat from the New Port Cove Marina in Riviera Beach.

Palm Beach Police say that the boat became airborne when Collier was going through the Lake Worth Inlet and ended up on the jetty.

The woman on the boat, identified as Michele Kosik, was injured and taken to Good Samaritan Hospital.

Collier was arrested by the Palm Beach Police and charged with stealing a $34,000 boat and operating it in an unsafe manner.
