INDIAN HARBOUR BEACH, FL-- A spray-painted reference to Adolf Hitler on a Brevard County, Florida home has neighbors upset.
The message Sheila Jones painted, which reads "Hitler would be a welcome neighbor here. Stop the harassment to my family," came after she and her husband failed to pay more than $4,000 in homeowners' association dues.
The association also warned the couple about the condition of their yard. Jones called it harassment and said the whole neighborhood is after her.
"We're trying to find jobs, and ... then you just get, you know, hate mail from the neighbors ... It's the same people over and over. It's just horrible," Jones said.
The president of the homeowners' association said everyone must adhere to the same rules, and the board hadn't committed nor condoned any harassment or vandalism.
