SUBURBAN DELRAY BEACH, FL-- A man is out nearly $5,000 after a doctor visit. Only his loss was not related to the cost of health care.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, the patient had just left his physician's office in the 13000 block of South Jog Road on Friday March 4, when two men approached him.
They said they belonged to a task force, identified themselves as law enforcement officers, and said there were warrants for the man's arrest.
The victim, who as not identified, said the two men interviewed him in a maroon Jeep Cherokee concerning his prescription drug use.
He was then asked to post a $4,800 bond for the "warrants" and his prescription was taken from him.
Investigators released two composite sketches of the suspects who are wanted for impersonating law enforcement officers.
