BELLE GLADE, FL. -- A proposal to reduce the workweek from five days to four will be considered by the City Commission.

The proposal if approved will be implemented on a six month trial basis.

City officials say that the shorter workweek improves productivity, increases morale and reduces costs.

The City of Belle Glades estimates that it could reduce fuel costs by $18,000 over the next six months if the plan is adopted.

City Commissioners will vote on the four day workweek concept at tonight's meeting.
