BOYNTON BEACH, FL-- People are taking it off for St. Patrick's Day in Boynton Beach. Taking it off the top, that is.
As part of the annual St. Baldrick's Day event volunteers solicit donations and then get their heads shaved. The money raised is used for children's cancer research.
Francis Feeney, a member of the St. Baldrick's organization, nods his head to this worthy cause every year.
"I only get my hair cut once a year.... very liberating. It does grow back!" Feeney said.
The people who choose to part with their hair do it as a sign of solidarity with childhood cancer patients who often lose their locks as a result of treatment.
