POMPANO BEACH - The Broward Sheriff's Office will host a memorial ceremony at 10 a.m. this morning outside the Pompano Beach drug store where sheriff's Sgt. Chris Reyka was slain two years ago.
The event will mark the two-year anniversary of the sergeant's still-unsolved slaying, and officals plan to also make yet another plea for anyone with information about the case to contact investigators.
Broward Crime Stoppers is still offering a reward of up to $267,000 for anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest in the case.
Reyka, 51, of Wellington, was checking on a suspicious car parked outside the Walgreens at 960 S. Powerline Rd.when he was shot to death at about 1:20 a.m. on Aug. 10.
Those wishing ot attend the memorial are asked to park at th Isle of Capri casino, where there will be shuttles available to the drug store. The casino parking lot is two blocks north of the drug store, along Powerline Rd.
