JENSEN BEACH, FL -- Faith, Tessa and Cowboy still look pretty pathetic, but the bouncing balls of fluff feel a lot better now.
Someone found the tiny kittens in an empty lot in Port St. Lucie.
They rushed the cats to Ocean Breeze Veterinary Medical Center in Jensen Beach where Veterinary Technician Denita Bohle was just about to close for the weekend.
The cats were in such bad shape, Bohle almost put them to sleep.
They rallied when she gave them food and water and Bohle says she just couldn't do it.
"It just broke my heart that they were in such deplorable condition, yet they still wanted to be held and let me clean their eyes and didn't fight it at all," she says. "I don't know. For some reason, they just kind of touched my heart."
Faith already lost an eye because of upper respiratory infection. Tessa and Cowboy will each need one of their eyes removed.
All three need special medical attention right now, but they will be ready for adoption soon.
For more information on adoption, call the Ocean Breeze Veterinary Medical Center at (772) 334-2273.
