SOUTH BAY, FL--A man and a woman died in a Saturday morning crash at 7000 U.S. Highway 27 in South Bay.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, a Chrysler, traveling at a high rate of speed, struck a tractor trailer hauling sugar cane just before 6:00 a.m. Saturday.

The vehicle was stuck underneath the tractor trailer and fully engulfed in fire when rescue crews arrived.  It took investigators hours to separate the vehicles and determine who was inside.

The driver of the vehicle was 22-year-old Evan Colon of Pahokee, according to Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office spokesperson, Teri Barbera.  The sheriff's office on Monday released the identity of his passenger.

Also killed in the crash was Norma Tiger of Ochopee, Florida.

The tractor trailer driver, Juan Ramon Rodriguez, 73, of Hialeah, was treated for minor injuries to his face, the sheriff's office said.
