WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Staff at Workforce Alliance in West Palm Beach say now is the time to apply, if you're looking for a seasonal job.
The employment agency is hosting an event dubbed "Retail Friday," from 9 a.m. until noon Friday.
Staff say employers are looking for seasonal workers nearly two months earlier than last year.
More than 800 jobs are available, and they're not just in the retail industry. According to Workforce Alliance, the hospitality and health care industries are also hiring.
Private clubs and exclusive hotels are seeking to fill numerous positions, including servers, cooks and front desk staff.
In the health care field, nurses and hospital staff are being sought out by local doctors' offices, clinics and healthcare facilities.
If you'd like to take part in "Retail Friday," it's important you register online through the Workforce Alliance website.
Staff also suggest you meet with a career consultant once you arrive. They ask applicants to have an open mind about part-time and seasonal positions that could eventually lead to year-round or full-time opportunities.
Finally, be sure to dress appropriately. Workforce Alliance ask you to dress for a business setting.
