WASHINGTON, DC - Britax Child Safety, Inc. is recalling 23,000 of its Chaperone infant car seats. The harness chest clip can break and pose a laceration hazard and choking hazard.
The company has received four reports of the clip breaking and three reports of injuries including minor lacerations and scratches to arms and a finger; and one report involved an infant placing the clip in his mouth.
This recall involves Britax Chaperone infant car seats with model numbers E9L95P2, E9L95P3, E9L95P5, E9L69N9 manufactured between April 2009 and May 2010. They were sold nationwide from June 2009 through October 2010 for about $230.
