Gas prices have gone up for 31 straight days according to AAA and economists say it doesn't look like prices will be decreasing any time soon.

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Drivers may be topping off their tanks a bit more these days, as gas prices continue to drop.

Consumers paid $3.34 for a regular gallon of gas Thursday morning at the 7-Eleven station at the intersection of St. Lucie West Boulevard and California Boulevard.

That station is one of the cheapest on the Treasure Coast.

The state's average price early Thursday morning was $3.46, compared to $3.80 just one month ago.

The drop is partly because of the falling price of oil, which is the lowest it has been since 2008.

Experts say consumers are used to the rollercoaster of prices, and shouldn't expect them to get much lower.
