WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- The mayors of three local municipalities are banding together Tuesday in West Palm Beach to host a summer youth job fair.
The fair will be held at Gaines Park in West Palm Beach, starting at 10 a.m.
More than forty companies will be at the job fair, looking to hire people who are between 16 and 26 years old. These people do not have to have college degrees to apply.
Some of the companies that will be in attendance include Home Depot, The Palm Beach Zoo, Avon, Goodwill, Mary Kay and FPL.
The city of Riviera Beach recently hosted a job fair for young people. More than 900 people attended the event.
Officials behind Tuesday’s job fair say the goal is to reduce crime within this age group, by getting young adults off the streets and into the workforce.
Those attending are asked to bring resumes and dress professionally. There will be free job training advice given before job seekers can apply with employers.
