(WXYZ) - Now that the UAW has a tentative agreement with GM, they will rev up negotiations with Chrysler and Ford.
Chrysler is expected to be next in line because their contract extension expires Wednesday at midnight, while Ford's extension is indefinite.
Chrysler workers have been closely watching the details of the settlement with General Motors because their’s may be similar.
Longtime Chrysler employee Sherry Griffing likes that the union was able to hold the line on healthcare, keeping benefits the same.
Griffin says, "Seeing as we haven't had a raise in a long time, we can't afford higher co-pays."
Eric Robinson is an entry level worker at Chrysler. He is hoping that the Chrysler contract will include raises for tier two employees, like the GM agreement.
UAW President Bob King has downplayed the letter he received from Sergio Marchionne, chastising King for missing their scheduled negotiations. King told Action News, "We have a great relationship with Sergio Marchionne and our focus is on getting an agreement."
