U2's 360° tour officially becomes highest grossing concert of all time

Final ticket sales will surpass $700 million

NEW YORK, New York - U2 is officially number one.

When their tour wraps in July, the final ticket sales for the legendary Irish band's 360° tour, are due to surpass $700 million.

Live Naton Entertainment made the announcement yesterday, declaring U2's 360° tour the most successful of all time.

According to The Hollywood Reporter , the staggering new total will wipe away the previous record, set by The Rolling Stones' Bigger Bang tour, which raked in $554 million during 2005-2007.

U2 has rocked around the world, playing to more than 5 million people across the globe. Some of those countries include Europe, Russia, North America, South America, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, according to Live Nation.

By the end of the tour in July, more than 7 million people will have experienced U2's 360° tour.

U2's record-breaking tour will rumble into Sun Life Stadium in Miami on Wednesday June 29.
