Fans should be in for a good show on week two of the new season of “Dancing with the Stars.”
For the past week, the 12 couples have been practicing two of the show’s more exhilarating dances: the jive and the quickstep.
On Monday night, viewers can expect singer Gavin DeGraw, opera star Katherine Jenkins, tennis legend Martina Navratilova, TV host Sherri Shepherd, soap star Jack Wagner, and actor Jaleel White to tackle the fast-paced jive.
Martina tweeted about her professional partner, “Enjoying the Jive! Quite physical and free-wheeling. @TonyDovolani knows how to make hard work fun! :)!!!”
Entertainment reporter Maria Menounos, Green Bay Packer Donald Driver, actor William Levy, Disney star Roshon Fegan, actress Melissa Gilbert, and singer Gladys Knight are on deck for the nonstop quickstep.
Regarding his practice, William tweeted, “Quick step is getting better.. Thank God!!!!!!!! The only thing is that it leaves u with no energy. Imagine jumping around for 4 hrs ..”
After week one, Katherine and Jaleel tied for the top score with 26 out of 30. Melissa, Gavin, and Martina were lowest with 20 out of 30.
The second week of competition airs at 8 p.m. Monday.
No couples were eliminated last week, so all return to compete for week two. The elimination will be held Tuesday night at 9 p.m.
But viewers should tune in at 8 p.m. before Tuesday night’s elimination. DWTS will have a recap show, featuring a look back at the first two performances, never-before-seen confessional footage, and amusing backstage moments. The elimination show will also feature musical performances by Sugarland and Matt Nathanson.
