A black meteorologist in Louisiana was fired after defending her natural hair from racially charged Facebook remarks, the New York Daily News reports .
Rhonda Lee said she was fired from KTBS after she responded to Emmitt Vascocu, a viewer who wrote on Facebook back in October.
Vascocu said, “the black lady that does the news is a very nice lady. the only thing is she needs to wear a wig or grow some more hair...im not sure if she is a cancer patient," The Daily News reported.
According to the report , Lee responded, “I am the ‘black lady’ to which you are referring...I'm sorry you don't like my ethnic hair. And no I don’t have cancer.”
After a confrontation with her boss regarding the post, she was fired.
