After their much publicized breakup in 2004, Ken is taking to Twitter to win back his old flame, Barbie.

That’s right, more than 50 years after the iconic doll was created, Barbie’s ex is pleading to get her back using social media. Mattel launched an extensive pre-Valentine’s Day campaign, asking people what Barbie should do after a seven-year hiatus from Ken.

The media campaign is using Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and even Foursquare to ask people if this long-time couple is meant to be. The website barbieandken.com is a viewer-powered “Bachelor” and the site’s “Love-O-Meter” features the popular Facebook relationship status “It’s complicated.”

Ken’s check-ins on Foursquare include a post from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where the Malibu man says “Barbie could spend hours looking at the timeless art, and I could spend hours looking at Barbie.” The famous plastic pair even flirt back and forth on Twitter.

Mattel has also put on billboards in Southern California with Ken professing his love for Barbie.
