LONDON (AP) -- Former Beatle Paul McCartney and American heiress Nancy Shevell have gotten married at a central London town hall and are now heading to a gala reception at McCartney's home.

The bride wore an elegant, above-the-knee ivory dress designed by McCartney's daughter Stella. McCartney wore a dark suit, a somber tie, and a big grin.

The couple were wed at Old Marylebone Hall, where McCartney married his first wife, Linda Eastman, in 1969.

Drummer Ringo Starr, the only other surviving member of the band that rocked the globe in the 1960s, arrived shortly before the ceremony along with other family and friends.
