BLACK EYED PEAS star TABOO has thanked fans for their messages of support following the unexpected death of his brother.

The I Gotta Feeling hitmaker shared the sad news about his older sibling Eddie Gomez's passing with his Twitter.com followers on Sunday (13Jan13), although he stopped short of revealing details about his demise.

Taboo returned to the micro-blogging website on Monday (14Jan13) and uploaded a touching image of Eddie, who was depicted with a pair of angel's wings.

In the accompanying caption, he writes, "My family is touched by the outpouring of sympathy & love during this difficult time. May my bro RIP. He'll be missed."

He also sent a message to his bandmate Fergie and her husband Josh Duhamel, who had expressed their "love & prayers" to Taboo online over the weekend.

Replying to her tweet, the rapper writes, "Thanks sis. Much love to you & Josh for reaching out."
