Country legend JOHNNY CASH's daughter Rosanne has recorded a cover of bluegrass standard LONESOME RIVER for a new album to benefit the victims of superstorm Sandy.

The singer/songwriter released the track on Friday (28Dec12) ahead of the upcoming release of The Storm Is Passing Over compilation, which will be sold in the New Year to help raise funds for hurricane relief charities.

The album is a collection of traditional songs that center around storms, and it features New York-based musicians.

Cash, who calls the Big Apple home, recently headlined a charity concert in Brooklyn to benefit Sandy relief efforts.
