ROD STEWART has bought a dilapidated, rundown mansion which he plans to renovate.
The multi-millionaire rock veteran has been based at a sprawling property in Essex, England since the mid-1980s but now he and wife Penny are planning to move to a new home 11 miles (18 kilometres) away.
However, the Maggie May hitmaker is being given sleepless nights by his ambitious new project because the roof leaks and the entire house needs to be rewired.
Stewart tells Mojo magazine, "I haven't been able to sleep for worrying about roofs and lead pipes, Welsh tiles and felt underlay, damp-proofing and rewiring the whole house... So it's not been easy."
